Make Calendula Cream Lotion

Ingredients:

Water phase: calendula hydrosol, purified water

Oil phase: calendula infused oil, shea butter

Others: emulsifying wax, preservatives

 Containers:

Mixing container: 2 liter stainless steel measuring cup

Oil phase heat up container: 500ml stainless steel measuring cup

 Tools:

Hot plate, wide shallow pot as hot water bath, hand mixer, stainless steel spoon,

 

Procedures

1, Weight each ingredient

Ingredient Weight

Calendula hydrosol 400 g

Purified water 400 g

Calendula oil 200 g

Shea butter 120 g

E-wax 56 g

Leuicidal liquid complete 34 g

 

2, Mix hydrosol and water in the mixing cup (2 liter volume)

3, Mix shea butter, calendula oil, and e-wax in oil mixing cup (500 ml volume)

4, Add water in wide pot and place it on hot plate then turn on heat to heat up to 60 degree celcius

5, Place both of the mixing cups into water bath and keep tracking temperature in each cup

6, When temperature raises to above 50 degree Celsius, the shea butter and e-wax start melting. Use a clean spoon stir it and help them melt faster until it become a whole liquid without any solid particles.

7, Keep heat up until temperature of both water and oil phases above 60 degree Celsius. Bring both cups out of water bath and leave them on a table.

8, Use a hand mixer to stir the water and gradually pour oil into the water while stirring. Slowly pour all of the oil into water and keep stirring for 10 minutes. You may break 10 seconds after each 1 minutes. Then let the mixture cool down in air.

9, Prepare preservative and pour it into the lotion mixture when its temperature dropped to 40 degree Celsius. Stir the lotion while adding preservative and keep stirring for 5 minutes after all of the preservatives added in.

10, When the lotion cool down to room temperature, it is ready to bottle. Mark the bottle with information of ingredients, date of manufacturing.
